When do we show a percent change?
A percent shows only when the earlier number is big enough to mean something. Small numbers show the plain change instead.
Checked on Oct 1, 2026
We show a percent only when the earlier number was big enough. A track that goes from 1 playlist to 2 did not grow 100% in any useful sense, so we show "+1" instead.
The minimum earlier number
| Number | A percent shows from |
|---|---|
| Playlist placements (playlists the music is on) | 5 placements |
| Playlist followers | 100 followers |
| Playlist adds and removals | 3 adds or removals |
These rules apply to the daily and weekly digests. The Trending and Unusual lists on Trends also leave out music with fewer than 5 playlist placements.
How movers are ranked
- A change counts more when it happens on a bigger base. Ten new playlists for a track already on 1,000 outrank ten for a track on 2.
- The digests list the top 5 artists and tracks by audience change first: how many people they gained or lost. Music with no audience data comes after, ranked by its playlist changes.
- A mover alert picks at most 5 items. A change must be at least 3 playlist adds or removals, 2 placements, or 10 playlist followers to count at all.
Questions
Why does my digest show "+3" and not a percent?
The earlier number was below the minimum in the table, so a percent would mislead.
Why is my track not in the movers?
Its change was smaller than the minimum, or other items moved more. Only the top 5 show. See Home for every track you follow.
