Calendar and post statuses

Read what each post status means, post by hand when a post waits for you, and cancel a post you no longer want.

Checked on Oct 1, 2026

Open Promote → Calendar. It shows three weeks of posts, one chip per post in the colour of its platform. Click a post to read it, edit it or post it. New post opens Composer, and a Suggestions chip marks a free day for a channel.

What each status means

StatusWhat it means
DraftSaved without a time. It does not go out.
ScheduledWaiting for its time. You can still edit the caption or cancel it.
Publishing…We are sending it to the platform right now. It cannot be changed.
Waiting for you to postIt is due on a channel we cannot post to. We emailed you the post pack.
PostedIt is live. Performance counts it from now.
FailedIt did not go out. Click it to read why, then schedule it again.
CanceledYou cancelled it. It does not go out.

Post by hand

A post goes the manual way when its channel has only a handle, or when the platform ended our login. At its time, we email the workspace owner a post pack with the subject "Your Instagram post is ready" (with the name of the platform). Then:

  1. Click Open the post pack in the email, or click the post in the Calendar and click Share now.
  2. Click Copy caption, and Download the clip if the post has one.
  3. Post it in the platform app.
  4. Back in Music24, click I posted it. The post turns Posted and Performance counts it.

Edit or cancel a post

Click the post. Change the caption and click Save caption, or click Cancel this post. A post that is Posted, Canceled or Publishing… cannot be changed. On a live post, View on and the platform name opens it on the platform.

When a post fails

The red count on Calendar in the sidebar shows the posts that failed in the last 30 days. Click a failed post. The red box Why it did not go out gives the reason in a plain sentence, with the platform’s own words under it. The date reads Was due. We do not send a failed post again on our own. See A post failed to publish.

  • When a new time can fix the post, it shows a Goes out date and time. Pick a time in the future and click Schedule again. The post turns Scheduled and keeps its caption and media.
  • When the post cannot go out as it is, it shows Schedule again in Composer instead. This is the case when it needs media, its channel is gone, or its clip is too large or cannot be read. Composer opens with the caption and the channel picked. Attach a clip and schedule it. See Compose and schedule a post.
A failed post still counts toward this month’s scheduled posts. Schedule again does not take another unit. Only a scheduled post that you cancel in the month you created it gives its unit back.

Questions

Why does my post say Waiting for you to post?

Its channel is not connected for auto-posting, or the platform ended our login. Post it yourself, then click I posted it. To let us post for you, connect the channel in Promote → Channels.

Why does Performance not count my post?

A post you publish by hand counts only after you click I posted it. An auto-post counts when the platform confirms it.
