How we protect your connected accounts
What Music24 keeps when you connect Spotify for Artists, Deezer for Creators, YouTube or a social account, how it is encrypted, and how Disconnect deletes it.
To show your own numbers and to post for you, Music24 keeps a sign-in for each account you connect. Every one of them is stored encrypted.
| Account | How you sign in | What we keep |
|---|---|---|
| Spotify for Artists | On Spotify pages, in the iPhone or Android app | The sign-in tokens Spotify gives us, encrypted |
| YouTube (Insights) | On Google pages | A read-only access token, encrypted |
| Deezer for Creators | Your Deezer for Creators email and password, typed into Music24 | The email and password, encrypted |
| Promote: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube | On the platform pages | Posting tokens, encrypted |
Threads in Promote has no sign-in. You post it yourself, so we keep only your handle.
Why Deezer for Creators needs your password
Deezer for Creators has no sign-in that gives apps a lasting token. Its sign-in gives a pass that lasts 7 days. To refresh your numbers every night, we keep your email and password, encrypted. The connect screen tells you this before you sign in.
How it is encrypted
We encrypt each sign-in with AES-256-GCM under a server key that is not stored in the database. A stored sign-in is never sent back to the app or the browser. We use it only on our servers, to read your numbers or to publish your posts.
What we read and do
- Artist portals: the daily numbers each service reports, such as streams, listeners, saves, playlist adds and followers.
- YouTube in Insights: read-only access. It cannot change your channel.
- Promote channels: we publish only the posts you schedule.
Disconnect an account
- Artist portal: on the card of the service in Catalog, select Disconnect and then Yes, disconnect. We delete your sign-in and every day of numbers we read with it.
- Promote channel: in Channels, select Disconnect and confirm. We delete the tokens and ask the platform to revoke them, where it allows that.
- You can also remove Music24 from the connected apps in your Google, Meta or TikTok account. After that, Music24 can no longer read or post with that account.
Questions
Does Music24 see my Spotify for Artists password?
No. You type it on Spotify pages. Music24 receives an access token from Spotify and keeps it encrypted.
Is it safe to give Music24 my Deezer for Creators password?
We store it encrypted with AES-256-GCM and use it only to read your Deezer numbers each night. Disconnect deletes it at once. Use a password you do not use anywhere else.
What happens to my numbers when I disconnect?
We delete every day of numbers we read with that sign-in, and Insights loses the service. If you connect again later, we read your history back from the start.
